we have help getting our cats vetted now, so these are just regular adopts.
this is the first part of a multiple part auction to try and earn the money to get my cats spayed/neutered and their shots. the reason i'm doing this now instead of waiting until i actually had spare time like i had intended will be below the auction details, so that anyone who doesn't care can just ignore it :3
BIDS start at $10 usd for each adopt
bid in increments of at least $1 usd, please
to bid, reply to the high bidder (or the 'bid here' comment for the first bidder) so that they're notified that they've been outbid, or else your bid won't count!
bids within the last 10 minutes will extend the auction by an hour
payment is expected within 24 hours of auction end via paypal; do not bid if you can't pay by then!*
*exceptions can be made, but only if it's discussed beforehand!
i'd appreciate it if the winner paid the paypal fee, but i won't flip out or something if you don't, either.

as to why i'm doing this now, instead of when i'm not already rushing to finish other things:
recently, my mom's niece begged my mom to let her stay with us, because apparently she had nowhere to go or something. my mom agreed, making sure to let her know beforehand that we have several cats, so she shouldn't come up here (she was in florida) if she had an issue with that. she said that was fine and arrived here a few days later. the day after she got here, she began treating the cats poorly. she started deliberately leaving the door open, so the cats would get outside. she'd also go around to all of the local restaurants asking to sit there without buying anything, or if she could have cups of free ice. then she started stealing; first my mom's prescription pain medication, and then from seemingly every local business within walking distance. my mom got sick of it and told her that she had to leave. a friend of my mom's even helped pay for more than half of the bus ticket.
said niece is now pissed off because my mom wouldn't put up with her stealing, so she decided to call animal control and say that we were abusing our cats, the house was filthy and covered in fleas, etc. so now animal control's trying to take our pets. as far as i can figure, the only things legitimately wrong is that they haven't been spayed/neutered, and that we have kittens that are only just old enough to be adopted. we're working on homes for the kittens, so i'm hoping that they'll leave us alone if we can get the adults altered and vetted.
tl;dr: i need to get my cats altered before animal control takes them, based on a greatly exaggerated report, filed by someone who's pissed at my mom and i for not putting up with her thievery.
AB is so high because that's what it will cost to get a single cat the necessary vet visit.
