So a little explanation is in order I suppose. :)
So Fancey-May here is the mother of my main character Cleo Blue. There's a full description of her on my old picture, but that's kind of embarrassing for me to look back at, so I'll just the shorten her backstory as much as I can.
Fancey-May (The misspelling is intentional) was inspired by the song "Fancy" by Reba McEntire (and my love of country music).
Her whole backstory is a very "rags to riches" story, she came from a poor family, ended up being thrown out by her mother out of desperation on her 18th birthday (to say the least). She was found by a kindly old businessman who ended up taking her in as his ward. After his death she ended up using the money he had left her to pursue her dream of becoming a famous country singer. She was actually quite successful, and ended up meeting her husband, Marc Anthony, because of it. She ended up leaving show business after some bad business dealings. And ended up settling down and raising her family of four kids (including Cleo). She died in a tragic motorcycle accident at the age of 39.
Her look is quite...different from how most country singers would dress, but that's really just her personality. :)
Anywho, I ended up drawing her again because of a contest I entered, and it's kind of gotten me wanting to redraw some of my old characters again.

Ha, I didn't realize dead parents were so...*thinks* oh yeah never mind XD
I came up with her when I was in middle school...AEONS ago XD
Well, she was kind of inspired by Tohru Honda's mother (who is also dead) from the Fruit Basket series. Not that just the dead thing, as they do have flashbacks to when the mother was alive and such, and how the two of them had a great relationship, etc.

It's okay, I (think) they grow as people! xP
The last part of the final arc is actually really touching, because it's about them (Damian mostly) realizing they don't have to be someone else and that it's not too late to search for happiness. The story doesn't really finish on a perfect note, but it's nice to see they're at least willing to give life another try. :)
