This was one of the first 3D models of a furry that I made. I choose to make the model of Duncan Roo because it seemed like an interesting choice of character to work on.
I was pleased with the finished results and think it turned out quite well.

After reading the Acceptable Upload Policy page again under the heading about Generated Art, renders, etc, it seems that it is ok to upload 3D artwork unless it is a pre-made model that hasn't been modified, or doesn't contain any unique user created content.
Since I created this picture from scratch without using any pre-made models it should be acceptable to upload.
Thanks for keeping me on my toes about the whole upload policy thing though. ^^

I haven't really thought about animating it so far, the model file has been sitting on my storage drive ever since i made it. Though animating it could be a fun idea to try at some point, I'd probably be kinda rusty though, it's been quite a while since i've used my 3d modelling program. ^^
What 3D Modelling program did you use to render
Duncan ?
Does this mean that you might animate him?
I have some ideas if you are going to.

I used a free 3D modelling and animation program called anim8or from http://www.anim8or.com/main/index.html
I don't currently have any plans to animate the model at the moment.

Thank you very much. May you please show me how you created Duncan please. I would like to create him so I can use him to learn how to animate using the software.
In order to show me how you created him, please send me all instructions to my e-mail. If you took screen shots while creating him, please send those too.

It would take a long time to make a tutorial on how i made it because i didn't use the usual cube extrude method that a lot of people use, i created it by starting with a few spheres, then cut bits off them, joined other lines together one at a time, created whole new pieces from scratch starting with a single point, etc. So I may not be able to go through it all again to make a tutorial.
However if you want, I can upload the original anim8or file to my webspace for you to download, then you can open it in anim8or and play around with it all you want. The model already has the bones and skinning set up so it should be easy enough to move around.
Here's a link to my original 3D Duncan Roo file: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/ca.hal.....duncan_roo.zip
The only thing you will need to do once you have loaded it in Anim8or is set up the textures again, it will tell you which textures are missing before fully loading the file. I have included step by step instructions on how to put the textures back onto the model, however if you haven't used one of these programs before you may have some difficulty getting used to it.
I hope you find this of some help.
