Yeah, I know Onoms and owl, but when I sketched it I was going for a small cross between owl and more common smaller bird types.. they blend together into the head shape really well.

What is it this week with people and lighting?!!

Seriously. This is spot on and so beautiful!
Definitely the lighting/shades/highlights that drew me in here. But it's such a beautiful piece. I really love this man.

I'll have to give this sort of lighting a go myself, though I bet it wouldn't even hold a candle to this!
