A typical little pose for a crazy dazed bully of a bat.
That's my brush for size comparison.
His wingspan (outstretched wings) is four feet.

Don't know, it was making three figures and fusing them into one.
First was the metal armature with muscles all over it. Everything from thighs to fingers.
Second was sizing the materials and making 'skin' for it then stuffing it.
Third was those huge wings, those were made separate and put on last along with the other details.
Roll all those together including drying time for the fabric paint...
I REALLY DON'T know =( But I would say this, WINGS ARE HELL! Every little vein (I REALLY need a better camera) in the wings, the batty 'fingers' in the wings,,,the thought makes my hands cramp. And I made it to where the wings can expand like a real bat and shrink when drawn against the body.
NEXT UP: A DRAGON...finally or more like finishing up. But he won't be mine though.

I've wanted to make dolls that could stand on two feet but I have a problem with them standing :(
But you have inspired me to try again :) I have a few more dolls under my belt now so I'll give it a try!
really though, I'm SO impressed! I need to comment on your whole lovely gallery when I'm not passing out from tiredness XD I made 40 necklaces today from start to finish O.o hehe

WHOA that's a lot of necklaces!!!
But far as the legs, this guy for instance has over 19 strands of wire in *each* limb holding him up.
NOT twisted, NEVER twist wire! I use to make dolls in the past with twisted wire, it tend to break over time- and I use to role play with these guys (I like toys, I admit!). I solder some sections and bound down the wires tightly with electrical tape. Its water proof and made for specifically for wires- not duct tape.
NEVER duct tape! I stress NEVER EVER use duct tape! Duct tape loses its stickiness with time also. Its nice looking now, but after a few years it will start to dry up and fall/peel apart.
In short Savage is a VERY heavy critter!
If the figure can't stand, you need more wires. Smaller the figure- use less wires, larger the figure- use more wires. I learned that the hard way back in 1994 when I tried to make a dragon character. He couldn't stand up! More wires solved it. Hope that helps!

Wowwww you know so much!
I find out most things through trial and error, it's sooooo nice to talk to someone else who makes dolls ^-^
Thanks for the info, so much! It will help out alot in two dolls I am in the process of making, one tribal bipedal creature for my boyfriend and another anthro-ish one for myself :) I was having so much trouble with the legs! Weight is great, it means that theyll stay in place! :D I weigh certain parts of my dolls bodies with fishing weights to help balance out the head area if it needs some help :)
