Extra bonus midweek edition - it's always exciting for little cubs to go and play somewhere new... but there's always going to be someone who doesn't want to go...

Football primer: The League Cup is a knockout competition for all the 92 clubs in the top four divisions of the football league pyramid. Premier League teams get a bye to the second round, or the third round for the eight teams involved in European competitions as well. Pairings for each round are picked at random after the previous round has finished, so we don't know who'll play who in round four yet.

Some clubs take the League Cup very seriously and try their best to win it, others use it as an opportunity to give their junior players a game. And then there are those who see it as an unnecessary distraction from the important business of the Premier League; Watford fielded a team of reserves in the second round and weren't too upset to lose to Preston North End.

Games are played midweek in the evenings, so on Tuesday or Wednesday night the other 19 Premier League teams and the 13 survivors from the lower divisions will take to the field, while Watford stay at home and prepare for the weekend's game!
