I never heard of the Wallace Monument until now.

I've been up it! It is close to Stirling. It was built sometime in the 19th century to commemorate William Wallace

I had to look up Wikipedia before I found out that William Wallace is that guy in Braveheart. (granted, he didn't dress like Mel Gibson)

Yeah, he still fought Edward I in real life. And still had that horrible death.

Most Scots don't eat it either. It is made from all kinds of crap stuffed into a sheep's stomach bag - most of us prefer fish & chips!

Yes, the company that is now Rockstar North were originally founded as DMA Design in the late 1980s. After originally being in Dundee, they moved when Rockstar Games bought them.

Intriguing! My paternal grandmother originally came from the Netherlands! What I plan to do at some point is a similar map but of a completely different country. My mum suggested England (where she's from) but I would be very biased against the south =P

Well you know they have that, because Scotland really does want to become it's own country again. It's so obvious. But yes foxes in kilts swimming around in cash at Edinburgh does seem appropiate enough. ^_^

Considering the economic situation I don't think Scotland cutting itself off from the rest of the UK will bring any good. I don't really support an independant Scotland - we would need a new currency, a means of a stable economy and goodness knows what else.

They could either keep the pound strirling which could easily still be used between the countries, or they could choose to accept the Euro or they could create a currency in it's own right. Though I doubt 100% independence could be acheieved over night, it's sometime that will defenatily take time and during that time Scotland woul;d have to come up with a decent plan, but of course they have to vote for their independence first though. I can see that you would vote against it. It could happen, but it would all depend if the actuall citizens of Scotland would like 100% independence.

More than 60% oppose such, which is why First Minister Alex Salmond is running a minority government at the moment. I didn't even vote for him.

Fair enough. Mind you much of the UK is against voting at the moment for obvious reasons.

I always pick the lesser evil.

I always have trouble thinking of Irn-Bru as being Scottish, seeing as one of the factories where it's made is around 2 miles from where I live! I did drink a hell of a lot of it the time I did go to Scotland though ;)

I head every year down to the Scottish Festival in Orillia here in Ontario to embrace our Scottish heritage.

Yes, I've heard about Scottish festivals in places like Nova Scotia ^^. When I was visiting Toronto last summer I saw somebody dressed in a kilt and playing the bagpipes on the street!
