Mathias Poirot, AKA Léo Sainte-Clair, The Eye, Nyctalope, Synthetic and many others, was the first human being to receive working cybernetic implants in history all the way back in the 1910s. During the second war, he became a key resistance fighter who fought alongside Hugo Danner, The Atlanican over-man, and was instrumental in freeing Gaulia (Dystonia version of France) from the Tomanian occupation. After the war he continued his work he started, fighting criminals and other such dangerous individuals, like the dreaded Dr Caligari.
In a way, he is Dystonia's version of General De Gaulle. He had lead the people against the invaders and succeeded. But unlike De Gaulle, he didn't even try for politics. Instead he disappeared from public and continued "the real work" as he calls it. Yeah he doesn't like politics and all associated with it.
