It was in the late morning, and the two brothers just finished their baths together. "Ok kiddos," Their mother smiled as she wiped her liox cub dry with a towel and started diapering him. "Ready for our little family road trip later?"
"I sure am mommy!" Marcus cheered into joy and turned to his furry dragon brother who had done drying himself. "Aren't you Cain?"
"Yea yea, you always are." Cain said as he wore on a pair of pullups. "Sometimes you TOO are, it's annoying."
"Cain, did I tell you to be nice to your little brother?" Their mother chided as she finished diapering Marcus. She then retrieved two sets of clothings hanging on the wall. "Alright now, let's get dressed."
"Wait!" Marcus exclaimed as he dashed out of the bathroom door. "Let me go get Bonnie first!"
"What? Your bunny doesn't need any clothes!" Cain yelled in disbelief as he took his clothings. Just then, a scream was heard through the hallway. "Oh now what?" Cain moaned, as him and their mother left the bathroom as well. They found Marcus rummaging through the playroom. "What's the matter dear?" The mother asked.
Marcus slowly turned his head, revealing his watery eyes. "My Bonnie... I can't find her..."
"Oh dear, I wish I can help you look for her," Their mother scratched her head. "But daddy and I have to get ready for our trip. Why not you help him look for Bonnie, Cain?"
"Who me?" Cain pointed at himself. "Why me?"
"Well you're the older brother, so you should help your little brother." Their mother explained. "I don't want this trip to be ruined. And mommy is going to be rather busy, so do mommy a favor, please?"
"Uh... fine." Cain groaned.
"Good, that's a good brother." Their mother patted Cain's head. "Good luck finding your Bonnie." She said as she left the playroom.
Cain glared at the saddened Marcus. "Why am I stuck looking for your stupid doll again?"
"Bonnie is not stupid!" Marcus retaliated. "She's my friend!"
"You don't need her for the trip," Cain rebated back. "I want to go on this trip already, and we can go without her." Marcus's eyes became even more watery, and shortly, he burst out crying. "IwantmyBonnieIwantmyBonnieIwantmyBonnie.." Marcus screamed as he cried, forcing Cain to cover up his ears from all the crying. "Okokok! I'll find your dumb bunny!" Cain yelled. The crying slowly ceased. "Y-You will?" Marcus sniffled and Cain nodded in reluctance. "T-Thanks Cain... And Bonnie is not dumb..."
"Yea yea whatever," Cain grabbed a nearby blanket and rubbed in against Marcus's face. "Just wipe that crybaby face out of yours. Tell me now, where did you left your bunny?"
"Oww..." Marcus mumbled after being rubbed by a blanket against his face. "Uh... I don't remember."
"Think now, where did you go today?" Cain stared at Marcus.
"Uh... Here," Marcus pointed to the floor of the playroom. "The bathroom, maybe the kitchen? The dining room I guess, and oh, the nursery." Cain thought to himself for a while. "Ok, let's go look in the dining room." He clapped his hands.
"Huh?" I thought the bathroom is next?" Marcus tilted his head.
"Don't question me, I learned this from that detective show I'm watching." Cain nodded in confidence. "Come on, let's not waste any time!" He grabbed Marcus's hand and dashed out of the playroom, dragging Marcus along.
As they arrived in the dining room, they could see through the glass door, both their father and mother were loading things into the car on the driveway. "Come on, they're going to leave without us! Start searching!" Cain cried as he started flying around the room.
"O-okay." Marcus nodded as he fumbled on the ground. They searched for a while with no progress. "Bonnie's not here, Cain!" Marcus's eyes became watery again.
"Oh zip it!" Cain snapped as he pondered. "One thing I learned is that things may be where you least expected it, to the living room!" He then flied towards the living room.
"Hey wait for me!" Marcus cried as he tried to catch up. Once then, they searched the area, yet again, no signs of Bonnie. "Cain! Are you sure Bonnie's here?" Marcus yelled as he started losing faith.
"I'm thinking I'm thinking..." Cain groaning as he knocked his own head with his knuckles. "Maybe we should start from the root of the problem, the nursery."
"Na-ah!" Marcus shook his head. "I'm looking for Bonnie here myself!" He then continued rummaging through the living room.
"Oh whatever." Cain shrugged as he flied into the nursery. He landed on the floor and started looking around. "Mmm... Why can't I find that dumb bunny?" He thought to himself. "Am I doing something wrong in my detective skill? Gah, Marcus is going to be so disappointed and we're not going to have a fun day today!..." Cain flopped onto the floor in frustration and despair, and suddenly, he spotted something of a familar pink under Marcus's crib. He crawled towards it and reached with his hand. He grabbed hold of the soft fluffy object and pulled it out, revealing a pink bunny plushie. "Hey!... It's Bonnie!" Cain carried the plushie in his hands. "I found her! I finally found Bonnie!" Cain rejoiced as he danced around with the plushie.
"You did?" A voice rang through the nursery, causing Cain to stop dead on his tracks, blushing red. "You really found him! Oh thank you big bro thank you!" Cain then felt a pounce on his back as a pair of arms wrapped around his chest, revealing it's just Marcus.
"H-hey! Let go of me!" Cain stumbled as he tried to loosen Marcus's tight grip.
"What's going on here?" Another voice were outside of the nursery. "I could hear so much noises from outside of the house." A figure then stood at the doorway, revealing to be their mother.
"Mommy! Mommy look, Cain found my Bonnie!" Marcus exclaimed while still hugging onto Cain.
"Oh did he? Their mother smiled as she approached the pair. "I knew you were a good big brother. Well done!" The mother kisses Cain on the forehead, causing him to blush even more.
"Uh yea, yes. Sure, whatever..." Cain fumbled with his words as he held out the bunny plushie. "Here, take back your dumb bunny." Marcus giggled as he took out his bunny plushie and cuddled it tightly. "Ok mom, can we go now?" Cain cried.
"Sure, we're done packing," Their mother said as she lifted Marcus up. "But you two still need to get dressed. Come along now, daddy's waiting for us." She then held onto Cain's hand and they all left the nursery.
