HIMCOE: Storm the Castle (WARNING: SPOILERS)
WARNING: SPOILERS FOR STAR VS. THE FORCES OF EVIL EPISODE #13!
In the season finale of "Star vs. the Forces of Evil", Toffee imprisons Marco in an indestructible crystal glass box that slowly retracts into the floor, threatening to crush him to death, and demands that Star destroy her magic wand to free him. What will Star do?!
Well, she didn't do THIS, which would have ended the episode on a much happier note.

(points up) I'm with Tristan, I'm afraid. To the best of my knowledge, we've only ever seen the scissors cut through dimensional barriers -- they can't even be used as normal scissors without doing so -- and Star has always ended up in the open. I'm sure she would have preferred for something like this to happen, but the scissors just aren't very useful for situations like this.
Well, if you really *want* to...
We haven't actually seen how finely dimensional scissors can be controlled. Maybe it's possible that once you use them and establish a reference point, you can then use that to pinpoint a second cut. Let's say Star was 15 feet away from the glass case. Why couldn't she cut a slit into the Earth dimension, step through, then walk 15 feet from wherever she ended up and cut a slit opening right inside the case?
Unless Toffee was blocking the case from dimensional scissors like at St. Olga's. Who knows!

Or you could just let the magic do the work for you. What do you think makes dimensional scissors work in the first place? And notice how you always end up at ground level instead of, say, stepping out three stories or a mile above the surface of whatever planet you were going to?
Definitely an oversight on the part of the writers. I was wondering why Star jumped into the chamber after she set her wand on self-destruct. How did she know that she and Marco could get out afterward? Oh, yeah -- dimensional scissors! Okay... Then why not use them earlier? That part actually didn't occur to me until I read your comic. Nice bit of deductive work there, Mr. Turtle! Take some spare bits out of the magical budget...
