For the longest time, I was thinking of adding a phoenix-based species to my headworld. But I was on the fence about the idea since I felt like I had too many winged and/or avian alien species as is. Chimera was the one who convinced me to go along with the idea.

They do resemble phoenix, but they actually evolved from tropical birds, so fire magick isn't common... although I will be creating at least one character of this species who is able to tap into the universal life stream to give him or her pyrokinetic abilities. While this lady is meant to resemble an Asian phoenix, there will be a subspecies that looks like the more western phoenix as well.

She is meant to be a queen... or at least a high ranking member of the government. She and her species are both currently unnamed.
