ANYWAY. Ever since I started the Okami art style, I've wanted to do a picture like this. And, I finally gained enough confidence in myself to try it out. Here's the finished result!
Amaterasu lopes across the land, revealing with her celestial brush powers the people she meets on her travels through Nippon; Oki, Rao, Waka, Susano, Sakuya, Queen Himiko, Camille and Camellia.
This was a fun, if exhausting piece to do, what with all the characters. Still, very fun, and it was informative drawing Ammy in such a pose anyway.

Thoughts Now:
Probably my favourite (whole) picture that I've done in the Okami style (it was my phone's lock screen for a while), I'm actually rather surprised it's so far in the past. Last year went by quickly, it seems!
Anyway, perhaps what I like about this is the fact that it fits the theme of the game well, but it's also one of the more abstract pieces that just works - and when an abstract piece works, it can work really well! I think it does anyway, even if I'm not quite sure why.
Stll, things are never perfect. Only took me a few weeks before I realised that I'd forgotten the large tufts of fur on Ammy's shoulders.
Oops.
Still. Onwards and upwards, I hope. Perhaps I'll do more like this in future - but until then, enjoy!
