Ebony's scars are a constant reminder of her past. The bite marks on her left arm and a few of the scars that cover her body were made by two dogs when she was young. She had been out for a walk with her mother when they attacked. A human, the dogs' owner just stood there and watched the vicious attack. Mina died in her daughter's arms shortly after the fight was over. It was a miracle that Ebony herself survived her injuries. Her arm slashed and badly torn up, scratches and gouges covering her body, her left ear had been almost bitten off and only a mere child. From that day forth, Ebony has suffered from cynophobia, phobia of dogs. The myriad of other scars are from more recent fights. Her most recent scar, the large red one on her back that goes from her shoulder blade to a few vertebrae above the base of her tail sometimes itches or burns for an unknown reason.
Ebony's personality in many ways mirrors mine. Beneath her tough exterior, she's actually rather mellow. She can be very gentle and caring, even motherly. To try describe the full range of her personality would be to describe almost every facet of what defines personality. There is a side to her that she tries to cover up, to hide and resist. Hidden deep within her, resides a monster. Capable of immeasurable destruction and killing hundreds without remorse. By burying this part of herself so deep within, she has all but sealed her fate. The monster within is growing restless. It bubbles to the surface and conflicts so drastically with the rest of her personality that it causes Ebony to have 'fits', as seen in the first chapter of Where Loyalty Lies. Being so flexible and broad, her personality may be prone to change over time.
Ebony has a large chest cavity to accommodate her large lungs and heart and her hands and paws are large for someone her size. Beneath her skin, she has a layer of blubber-like fat that acts as an insulator, energy reserve, shock absorber and more. Able to consciously control her metabolism, she can gain or lose weight quickly and easily. When food is abundant, she gains weight to store extra energy for when food is scarce or even runs out.
