It sounds like you have either applied a rather aggressive compressor to the whole mix or you have used so high levels that your software has done it for you. If you didn't do the compression yourself, could you lower the gain on everything until the output just about kisses 0db on the loudest peaks? The result will be a lot more quiet, but when you listen to it and crank up the volume when playing it back, I think it might sound clearer and even more awesome!
