You know what this is reminding me of? The Agency from the Sci-Fi channel's "The Invisible Man" series. Dealing with the strange, the unusual, the unnatural, the bizarre...and on a shoestring budget because accounting can't get us more than a $100k for quarterly operating expenses.
The lunch-thieving probably escalated to a point where further conflict would have destroyed the sanctity of the breakroom, nevermind the fridge. There are prolly cold war protocols in place at the moment, but who knows when the ceasefire will be broken...! *ominous roll of thunder*
Finally caught up on the comic, still awesome! That watermelon had a creepy feel at first appearance, as well as it sounding like it knew the end of the world, but now it's just a talking watermelon in a fridge. I would say it would be more useful as a paperweight, but it kinda floats away...
And I would be too scared to eat it, what would happen if I ate it, cause I really like watermelon, like, a lot.
