This is a screen capture of the opening page of a new website that I helped develop. "The Zine Artists" is an archive for artists who appeared in classic SF fanzines going all the way back (in theory) to the 1930s. Since it is a new site, however, Alan White and I are still adding to it. The project is open-ended and can never be complete. At the moment there are 12 or 15 artists showcased (including myself). The newest addition is a gallery of work by Alicia Austin, who appeared in numerous SF fanzines in the early 1970s.
I've uploaded this to Fur Affinity hoping there will be viewers interested enough to take a look. But I need to mention that Alan and I are not seeking to add furry artists. To be blunt, there are hundreds of furry artists and their sheer numbers would swamp the archive. Moreover, being a fairly new fandom, few of the artists are exactly "vintage." FurAffinity itself and similar sites already exist for viewing anthropomorphic art.
Furry art, per se, however, is not disallowed since funny animals have been a staple of cartooning for far longer than there has been a fandom for them. Both I and Marc Schirmeister have ample galleries since both of us were SF fanartists long before furrydom.
But if you are at all curious about the amateur publications of science fiction fandom in the past, The Zine Artists might repay giving it a little of your time.
