It is two weeks after the encounter at the warehouse, and tensions are starting to flare up. The town council is divided, River finds herself having difficulty dealing with Roderick's inclusion into the team, and Deirdre finally receives a visit that she's been waiting weeks for. Each Traveler tries to look forward, but there always seems to be more questions than there are answers...

The third installment of The Travelers is here, and unlike the others this is the first chapter to split itself between three major viewpoints rather than stick with just one for the majority of the chapter. River's is the longest though, so she gets the thumbnail. Not a whole lot of vore or action this time around, but it sets up a lot of recurring plot elements for future chapters, especially the Town Council of Stony Plain.
Thanks for reading, and feel free to leave any comments regarding the chapter below. We're really starting to get to the meat of this series, and I'm interested to hear what people think of it so far!

Another wonderful chapter Blitz ^^. I really enjoyed this one. Seeing the council getting information about the reclaimers feels like a huge advancement in terms of plot; now they aren't as big a secret. Though I suspect it's going to be a great struggle before they've met their match yet.
Good to see that Rivier is as lovable as ever (to me ^^;), the bit with her at the end towards Roderick was entertaining. Poor Lorne though...I'm sure attitudes will mend in time.
Also good to see that Keren is making moves to learn more about what he's been feeling. I'm really hoping that him and Viera will be able to work together to make him more comfortable with the whole thing.

Oh yeah, the Reclaimers have a lot of members in their ranks, those are just the four at the top. It'll be quite a while until they're all fully revealed and taken care of. ^^
I'm glad you still like River too, she's a bit extreme and has trouble seeing things in terms other than black and white. But it's understandable given what she's gone through, and I think Lorne and the others will be able to help her mellow out a bit x3

I feel like I have a lot more to say than what I have here, but let's begin...
Really, all I have to say about the first part is Politics. That is all. Although it does remind me that I really haven't developed my setting's politics at all, or even the setting itself. I'm stuck between quite a few concepts, deciding where my characters and societies fall on the wild-civilized scale and such. As for the big villains' reveal... well, I'm certainly shocked to see a member of the Eeveelutions on their side. Granted, it's different and unexpected, but I myself don't know how to feel. (My characters... would be beyond displeased to learn this, of course.)
So, I'm not sure how much Roderick screwed up earlier or how much of the punishment he deserved, but I'm still siding with River here. I'll just go ahead and confess I was pleased at how she asserted herself back there. And I'm sure she'll easily make up with Lorne. The pairing-tease is too strong there. And speaking of teasing, that's also how I'd describe the interactions at the final part.
Yep, pretty sure I could say more. I know that my longer comments are generally well-received, I just haven't thought of anything else.

Yeah, it was a good while into my series before I really figured out how the politics of Stony Plain and the villains worked in the setting. I'm honestly pretty surprised myself at how much it's grown since my first chapter, heheh...
River and Lorne are another surprise, I never really intended the two to become close friends but that's definitely the direction they're headed in now. And yeah, I was hoping people would question whether Roderick deserved what he got from River. After they're finished enjoying how dominant she is, of course x3

And enjoy it I very much did. Love, love seeing them as not submissive for a change.
I did some thinking and I'll post more of my thoughts on that matter. Yes. He definitely deserved, well, not all of it but I'm not afraid to say most of it. Seems that he failed terribly at his intention, maybe even made her situation worse. Even instinct can be rational sometimes, I feel, but I gotta wonder how the rest will react. It seems in their nature to try to reconcile even impossible relationships, though if they can manage even a little, I'd love to see that "experiment" get carried through :>
I've actually began work on building my own setting in this meantime. I have a chapter planned for just that purpose as well, but there's a small chance I might reveal some stuff in journals.

A wonderful chapter, definitely hits points that the characters would hit apon while talking. River is still the sweet, yet badass jolteon she always is. Roderick is still trying to make things right, though the doubt around him is very understandable. And poor Loren gets the short end of the stick yet again, poor guy can't catch a break without it blowing up in his face.
Really enjoyed reading this one, it's interesting to see how the characters conflict with eachother, I think that sort of interaction really drives the story. Here's hoping that Lorne can forgive River though, I'm sure whatever she's planning should be fun.
Also curious to see what Keran does with the advice Deirdre has given him, looking forward to seeing more of the Travellers adventures. x3

Well this was quite a chapter, lots of interesting stuff. River and Lorne seem close will they get closer? That would be neat but I guess I have to wait to see that. And then Roderick and River, she won't be getting close with him anytime soon, but maybe it will work out... or he'll just end up being food for her. Finally it's good to see Keran and Deidre talking again. Anyway lots of surprises in the future chapters and I look forward to them. ^^
River and Lorne's closeness kind of took me by surprise, to be honest. I just kept coming up with scenes where the two had to interact and it started growing from there, heheh. Things are a bit more ambiguous between River and Roderick, but despite what she said this is far from the last time those two characters will interact with each other ^^
I'm glad you enjoy the series so far, and I'm looking forward to writing the rest as well!
