Let me introduce you to Ogier the Dane (Holger Danske). Legend says that if Denmark ever faces trouble, he will raise and stand and defend Denmark against her foes.

Though this is just a myth/ legend and he of course never have risen from his slumber, others have done so in his name.

During WW2 a resistance group named themselves "Holger Danske" or "Ogier the Dane" it was one of two major resistance groups. The other being "BOPA" borgerlige partisaner (citizen partisans).

The statue is to be found in the Dungeon of Kronborg castle and was given to the castle by the resistance group after the war.
