Lots of people name their cars - including myself. And I believe its more common for vehicles to be thought of as female, than male (if you think of ships - they always refer to them as 'she')... but I don't think its unreasonable for a car-owner to personify their own car with the gender and name of their choosing...
My cars name...I guess I just call it "bitch". I dont know why. When I'm at a stop light, and i'm going to floor it I usually yell "DRIVE BITCH, DRIVE!!!" for no particualr reason. So I guess my cars name is bitch. But yeah, I own a 1996 Subaru Outback Legacy, and for a wagon it goes FAST.
I never used to name my cars—oddly for a furryfan I don’t tend to anthropomorphize inanimate objects to that degree.
Then I got my Miata.
I appealed to
baroncoon, because his family always name their cars. He dropped my request into his subconscious, pulled up a lucid dream of his character Jessica Knight, and she said, with folded arms, emphatic nod, and an air of finality, “Michelle.”
So now my little silver baby is Michelle.

He's not the artist, he got it commissioned.

Okie ^.^... I meant sports car in a broader sense... due to the 'sporty' aesthetic in the lines and shape of the car...
And thanks very much =). I don't have a whole lot of experience drawing vehicles but its a treat when I get to, because I find them so aesthetically fascinating, and a challenge to render.

If you mean can I build a model - to be honest I have no idea as I've never tried or thought of trying to build a model.
If you mean can I paint a picture of a model car - then yes, if I have good reference pictures. The reference pic that you linked to is a bit too out of focus for me to see the details well enough to draw it accurately...

Ooh, very nice! I'm guessing Ortaon is French, judging from the French license plate. The '33' indicates that it's registered in the Gironde department in the Aquitaine region of southwestern France. As of 2009, the plate design will change.
Very impressed with the detail of the car. And Ortaon's rather hot-looking as well. ^.^

I admit to cheating -- I looked at the article on vehicle registration plates on Wikipedia, then checked the details for French plates to see if the plate was a valid one, then looked up what department '33' pertained to.
I /did/ try learning French when I started high school, but that's about as close to France as I've got.

:looks: ooh... I dunno - I followed the link on the first one, the Evo - and I found the pictures of the other angles of the car - I really like the grill and hood design on that one.. nice!. But I can only see the back of the Subaru, so I am not sure what model I'm comparing it to ^.^
If you wanted 2 pictures, each one a car with a fursona, it would be $420 plus shipping/handling... If you wanted one picture - one fursona with two cars, it would be $295 plus shipping/handling (but I'm not sure that would be the best compositionally - trying to fit 2 cars and a person into a piece...
And if you just wanted an illustration of a car, no fursona - it would be $125 plus shipping/handling.
Now that I've overloaded you with options ^.^, Feel free to ask if you have any other questions =)

I love this :) Great rendering of the car! I love the light reflections and the headlights alot. Also the details of being able to see the seats in the windows is awesome.
God I wish I had $210 and that you were open for commissions, I'd commission my husband infront of his 3000GT.

Oh man... that inspires so many ideas for commissions... either of my and
lunaticmoth's real cars (a 84 Honda Prelude or a 98 Acura CL) or one of the cars we're aiming to get (09 Acura TSX especially) or the cars we fantasize about (Nissan GT R, Hyundai Genesis Coupe or Saab TurboX)
Arrrgh, if I can make up my mind, I'll keep an eye out for the next time you're open for commissions... o_o

I am currently accepting commissions - I have a short queue, and for the most part I work on multiple commissions concurrently ...
There may be delays due to the Christmas holidays though..
If you are interested in getting into the queue - feel free to email me at kacey[at]otonashi.net with a description of what you would like... =)

I didn't comment when I saw this the other night (I try not to clutter up things with uncritical praise if I have nothing else to contribute), but then the next morning, my car acquired a name. I looked out to see a crow perched on top of it. So, in honor of the perch Poe's Raven took, my white (pallid) Cherokee Classic is now Pallas.
haha..., me have... me is what car... Mitsubishi Z15A GTO '99...
