Paint Series: Art War: Atomic Elbow Drop (Revisited)
Another piece from the first Art War I partook in... sorta.
The first Art War, for me, was something quite special to participate in, specially because alot of the big names in Macro Art took part in it, artists I truely enjoyed and followed. One such person was none other than
cougr, and his character, Dracopuma. This was pretty damn sweet for a fresh faced newbie like myself, at the time.
After a few aborted attempts to interact with him, (or DP) I finally decided, near the end, to try my luck and do something crazy... which was have my fursona leaping at Dracopuma in a big Elbow Drop manuever, which would've surely made Jimmy Snuka proud btw.
BUT this was, as stated in previous Art War-related submissions, during a VERY frantic and chaotic moment. You had to hurry your ass off to get in ANY sort've attack on someone at times. Well this also called for "cutting corners" in my paint work, so alotta stuff wasn't really the best. Specially, in this case, when trying to draw a character like Dracopuma, in Paint no less, whom I had NEVER attempted to draw before then.
So as you can imagine, the original drawing of DP was pretty lackluster. Looking more like a Big Blue Walrus with a bad Elvis hairdo than a half-dragon, half-puma.
But Cougr rolled with it into something pretty darn funny (involving a giant blue walrus), and was totally cool about my attempt, reassuring me that it's not easy to draw hir, even for him.
Well, that was a while ago, (obviously) SO I decided to go back, and actually draw a better version of Dracopuma, with the Paint skills I have now. And am quite pleased with this outcome. ^^
Hope you, and Cougr, like it.

Hahaha, that's awesome.
Yeah...nothing was quite like that original Art War. Funny thing is, Cerberus tried to start another one last year, but no one really caught on. I was mad that no one ran with it. (Remember the post where he said we need to show each other how much we love one another? I think I was the only one that read between the lines)

Yes, I remember that and this is a really cool revisit to the scene. You did a really damned nice job on DP in this one. I really do need to get off my backside and work up a model sheet or something. I don't even have all the details on the beastie.
*snurk* Thinking a bit, I figure the reply image to that would be one of DP and SX doing a tango or jitterbug or somesuch all over some poor city and other war participants.
Nice job. Much fun. And thanks.
