Vivi Void was awarded the Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse for his bravery while attached to 217. Jager-Rgt. during close combat with the Red Army during the second battle of Kharkov in the winter of 1944. His frightened, far-away look is a testament to his countless acts of bravery in the very face of death.
