Billy Goat Gruff

Trip, trap, trip, trap, trip, trap! went the bridge, for the billy goat was so heavy that the bridge creaked and groaned under him.
"Who's that tramping over my bridge?" snarled the troll.
"It is I, the big Billy Goat Gruff," said the billy goat, who had an ugly hoarse voice of his own.
"Well, I'm coming to gobble you up!" roared the troll.
The Billy Goat laughed....

I used a real billy goat skull with impressive horns to create this beast in a process that took three months. All sculpting and painting done by hand; I also cleaned and processed the naturally deceased (fresh) skull myself. His fangs come from a coyote, raccoon and fox while his glass eyes are handmade using a low temp firing technique. His beard and ear hair came from a bison and skunk. His mouth has clear 'drool' droplet effects and a long slimy warty tongue, plus lovely thick green snotty Exorcist-style drool that glows in the dark. Dried blood and torn flesh contrasts nicely with his charred, scaled black skin and gray-tinged bone. His teeth were cleaned with dental tools and then recolored to have a 'dirty' look. He sits on an extended wall mount bracket that was customized to fit him; the bracket swivels and rotates so he can be viewed from different angles. He will (hopefully) be sold at a Halloween event on the 3rd. I'm quite pleased with how he turned out! Next in my series of dark fairy tales? The three little pigs...inspired by the original tale in which they cooked the wolf alive at the end and ate him.
