Go with the flying eye... it's simple, and it would be easy to animate, which is always an attention catcher.

This is an avatar meant for a comic book project I'm working on. The simplicity of the flying eye is very good, but I don't plan on doing any animating with these things.

This is actually for a comic book project I'll be doing. My FA avatar box will probably continue to remain empty for a while to come. But yes, there's something great about the simplicity of the flying eye.
