This incredible commission was done by the amazing
Dolphiana
You can find the original HERE, please give her a watch and a fav. too! She's an really amazing artist and deserves many, many more watches!
I saw the gorgeous backgrounds in her gallery and had the idea to commission her with a panorama picture.
Even though this piece is outstanding in every way by itself, it is also very, very special to me in a certain way.
I've been developing a story featuring anthromorphic characters living together with humans in a fantasy-medival world for about 15 years now. I tried many things to bring it to life: First, by programming a video game with the RPG-Maker 2003, later by simply writing it down. I failed so far and hope that someday, I can share this story with you people out there.
This picture is the first of hopefully many commissions featuring scenes from this story.
You could say the world I created is a dream of mine, a world created by memory and imagination.

As Ryu closed his eyes, he took a moment to inhale the cold, fresh mountain air and began to ponder about the things of the past:
Things he had to do, even though he didn't want to. Things that could best be described as a thunder storm, a force you can only watch and never prevent.
Things that gone terribly wrong and others that went perfectly right.
He remembered all those smiles he shared, as well as tears, anger and hatred. He remembered the warm feeling of his blue haired tiger sleeping in his arms. The argues with his father...the pain of loosing friends and family...
As he opened his eyes again, he saw the slowly descending sun over the snow covered mountains and forests in front of him, and smiled. He knew that he had to keep all these feelings close to his heart and remember them, because they shaped him into the person he now was. Everything good and everything bad: only stepstones on his way.
Out of the corners of his eyes, he saw his friend Alakar soaring happily through the skies, if only for a short moment, free of all the burdens of the world. As he shouldered his backpack and went on, he wondered if the raven missed his human form at all.

For many key scenes in my story, I have certain theme songs consisting of songs from my favourite bands. When I hear these songs, I often think fo those moments in the story.
For this one, even though the song text doesn't fit perfectly, it's this song:
Dragonforce - The Trail of Broken Hearts
