Ive always found useful armor to be sexier on female characters than ones made for fan service.

Not to mention that a male counterpart to the armour is going to remain fairly similar, too. Keeps the looks more uniform.

Yep. FOr me, it just makes the character seem smarter. I MUCH prefer smart women.

Armor design? Wow, that's an entire specialty in its own right, a blending of engineering and aesthetics.

It is SUCH a relief to see my fellow man recognizing this.

I mean, I KNOW there are people out there who say that "sex appeal distracts, and therefore it's advantageous to dress women like sex objects," but that kind of logic is bullshit for one very simple reason. In a real combat situation (i.e., NOT the latest Dead or Alive title, but a scenario where actual weapons are used to inflict actual damage), sex appeal vanishes quickly in favor of taking measures to preserve oneself (generally by attempting to take out the threat at hand).

Red Mages are absolutely styling XD

Just a shame a pure red mage usually drops in usefulness once you get higher level spells to use, although in the turn based games with a job system, combining double cast with something like summon... yeah... (Makes Final Fantasy Tactics Advance kind of a joke when I can just one-round a whole bunch of dudes with one Viera)

For the most parts, yes it's does look functional. But the Pauldrons of Doom would likely serve little purpose, aside of intimidation.
