This picture is made by applying oil-pastels with a metal tool to black paper in order to make the colour thick and bright and so that a feather texture could be added to the body and wings by scraping some of it away.
Sadly the image has not scanned as well as it might as the original is A3 and so had to be scanned in two halfs and then put back together on the computer.
