I just finished up this awesome cloak for a friend! It's been so long since I've worked on cloaks, this one was a bit different than anything I used to make. It features a huge oversized hood and it's more of a half cloak(it doesn't come all the way around like my old cloaks did) I ADORE how it turned out though!! It also features a really pretty oak leaf clasp in the front made by the Crafty Celts.
I can't wait to make my own like this for the Renaissance Faire!
Thinking about offering these in my Etsy store after Halloween and once I source some good fabric too =]

Yep! My friend wanted something more off of his shoulders so I ended up with like half a circle pattern almost. I'm personally a fan of the big, flowy full-circle ones! :3 And I'd definitely offer the hoods like this as a standard option. I'm also going to try and work in fur pelts(or faux fur) on the shoulders kind of like a Game of Thrones style! There are so many options. I can't wait for time to free up next month so I can experiment with everything!
Thanks! It all depends on the fabric and the clasp! This one in particular would probably be around $200, just because the clasp itself is $60(currently, I bought it a few years ago for $40ish I think before they raised their prices) and my friend choose a hella expensive fabric. I think it was like $35 a yard. I'm hoping to get the costs down to like $100-$150 if possible. I just need to find a place that sells nice, heavy woolen fabric for cheaper. A a place to get cloak clasps too that isn't an arm and a leg =P
