..... "the Irish bo'sun Smee, an oddly genial man who stabbed, so to speak, without offence, and was the only Non-conformist in Hook's crew" ..... (J.M.Barrie)
Mr. Smee, Hook's bosun. So adorable the children liekd him even when he slapped them in the face (he cannot beat children with the fist). Not the smartest by far, but shrewd on a cute way.
What else could be considered than a pig? I am not so sure, I thought about a fat cat, or a mastiff first. But those species do not represent the snugness Smee stands for. So I guess, a domestic pig will work.
In my personal version, Smee is wearing a classic bosun uniform of the British Navy, complete with the black waxed hat, featuring the name of the ship. The striped vest is an attribute to the classic Smee-costume, the long dagger on his side is the famous "Johnny Corkscrew", which he is used to turn around in the wound.
Besides, Smee got nice little names for everything. There are many adorable attributes on him, for example, after a kill, he cleans his glasses, not his knife...
