Looks like a Japanese Writing Spider. I have those around my house. Amazing against bugs, terrifying when one decides to make it's home between two of your porch boards.

Its a black and yellow garden spider. Big yes, but completely harmless to people. :3 I had a rather large female that lived outside my front door for a while.

I just don't like them. The bigger the spider the more freaked i get. Nice to know it's harmless though.

yeah they are completely non-aggressive so unless you do something like grab at it or hit it. Its just gonna do its own thing and leave you alone. Even if it did bite you its essentially like getting a bee-sting, red and welty.

Argiope aurantia is completely harmless to humans and she will just chill on her web and eat lots and lots of pests.
