i guess this also implies on life in general? :)
i was Diagnosed with Diabetes last november, At first i didnt think much of it...till i HAD to take a medicine i wasnt 100% familiar with called Metformin *link below*. after the first week of taking the pill it saw super hard to do anything around the house i wasnt used to it lowering my blood sugar, i wanted it to stop i wanted to end this crazy nightmare im in.
but then i nearly forgot my mother is diagnosed with diabetes as well, she talked to me about it and now i have clearer picture of what i must do now. I will fight my diabetes to the bitter end, i refuse to let it control/takeover the things i use to do!
I...WILL...FIGHT...IT

Great motivation! I too have been drawing since 1986, but didn't have passion I should have had then. Drawing is a hit and miss, trial and error. That's what should push one to become better instead of giving up. Even at my age, I'm still learning to draw better, and I must say that I really enjoy it! Again thank you for sharing this! I'll never give up! *hugs* =^_^=
Wow. Yiu are truly an inspiration Gill. Even though yiu are the best artist I have seen, you give us inspiration and motivation to never give up and continue to practice to practice to get more better. Cause failure is not an option. Your not like some artist that believes we are underneath them and don't say nothing at all, ignoring the beginner to leave us hang in dry. You lift us and we want to thank you so much Gillpanda. Thank you so much for such motivating words. *standing ovation and bows to you *
Hehe great message and I love your work :D
hehe between the message and the overalls your charecter is wearing, it reminded me of a inspirational video I look at on youtube

But yes! Never give up!
But yes! Never give up!
I needed to see something like this. I have been drawing for awhile, since I was in early grade school. I didn't use to think much of it, I just did it. My sister's art at that early time inspired me to even pick up a drawing tool. I'm glad it did too. I do enjoy drawing to this day. Though lately, like still waters in a cave, my inspiration and creativity have become stagnant. I'm often stuck in between what I want to drawn and what I should draw. But ideas in general have been scarce. The few that come to mind before caressing my pillow and closing my eyes are quickly lost long before I rise again. Ideas always seem to come at a time when I am stuck in another motion and activity.
Though I won't give up and I haven't, though I have come so very close to doing so. I want to keep drawing and to become consistent with it so I can draw very good pics at a decent pace at least with minimal frustrations gathered along the way. I'm not sure if my art is even considered good, but I do hope to keep progressing with it. Thank you for the motivational message Gill, I hope to be able to do more with my art soon.

i always look up to other artists for inspiration
its the trying over and over and seeing no improvement that REALLY burns when you've been at it for a while.
but, eventually it will happen and you will get 0.00000000000000000000000000000001% better than you were 5 years ago.

I really like this! I know that I'm not the most incredible person when it comes to art and I've only recently begun seriously drawing furries! But you are absolutely right! Everybody starts somewhere and this drawing only encourages me to keep at it and keep trying to get better! This was just what I needed to see today and despite the incredible number of comments you have on this so far I hope you get to see this one so you know you have my gratitude! Thank you very very much Miss Panda!
*Looking at Gillpanda's motivational picture and reading that she never gave up on drawing for 24 years and got that good fills you with... DETERMINATION.*
Side note: Determination is one of the main themes of the game Undertale and it usually happens whenever you save your game. When you save your game, your character sees or notices something memorable about the area and it fills them with... DETERMINATION.

The name's Ander, I've been drawing since I'm 15, that means 10 years. I've started uploading stuff on DeviantART almost 8 years ago and on FurAffinity 6 years ago. When I started online I was filled with hope... Now I've stopped believing. Resigned to be just a third zone artist.
this is a good message but it's h9iding an insidious bid for attention it seems to talk about your 24 year art journey. That's impressive and great for you, but to everyone else that sees this and reads through the comments, I want to say just one thing;
Some of the VERY best artists I know, people that have worked for projects like "Magic: the gathering: or "Marvel comics" learned to draw in a far shorter time. Sometimes months. If you can learn a language in 6 months, you can learn technique, form, and lighting. The real question you have to ask is 2 fold; 1: are you actually creative and do you honestly love to create, and 2: Do you have the drive and tenacity to work through problems and look for solutions.
Drawing is not about talent or time spent doing it. Good artists would have you believe that because it justifies their time and their journey, but truly, it's not. It's about the balance between creativity and the ability to organize that and turn it into drive to learn.
Cheers everyone.
Gill, no hard feelings. just my opinion, mate. Good sentiment and all, but that's my 2 cents..

Great motivation piece. If only
OlivertheOshawott can feel better when he draws. He seems to think everything he does sucks and only believes he's getting worse at drawing. :(
I don't believe that's true. He just needs something to motivate him out of his depression.
