The effect for the canvas looks interesting. Sorry if this sounds weird but the effect makes it look like to me that it was drawn on crinkled tissue paper.

Yeah, I used crinkled paper as the texture. :D I've fallen in love with using textures and hope to use them in ost, if not all, of my images. ^^ I had a lot of fun with this too.

oh, glad I was right with that then or it might of been embarrasing. I was going to be doing something similiar for a photograhy assignment (taking personal belongs of mine, covering a picture of me with them so they make my phisique, and using a transparant black and white version of the original image for deffintion).
Seeing your take on that here really makes it look quite impressive. So I may try taking pictures of some textures and keeping a 'texture folder' ready ^_^

:O That's what I do. I have a folder for textures that I like, and although it's very small right now, I hope to fill it with lots of cool textures. :D Your project sounds very cool, too. Let me know when it's done? :D

But the way, the my grandad paints this house and the outside of has a marble like appearance and some of the walls have a wood like appearance. Although a flat surface they give the illusion of texture. Interested in some photo's of them for your folder?

Beautiful use of texture! :D And it's taken me two or three looks to realise that all of the colour is flat (initially I was just gonna compliment how well the simplicity of the jumper sets off the detail of the head, which it still does; there's just less detail than I thought XD). You've pulled it off really well - well done! :D
