The wee skull of this naturally deceased Carolina anole lizard (Anolis carolinensis) is only a hair longer than a penny, and it is absolutely beautiful in its tiny, delicate details like minuscule crocodile teeth. I almost didn't let this one go....

Contained inside this vial is the partial skeleton of a naturally deceased anole lizard. The skull is completely intact alone with the leg bones, a few vertebrae and a rib or two. My beetles did an amazing job with these tiny, fragile bones! I gently completed the job by whitening and degreasing this tiny treasure abd tendering tucking it into the vial on a bed of hand-dried moss. Also in the vial is a small smooth river pebble, a sprig of dry-preserved wildflowers, a dry manzanita twig, a bit of dry preserved fern and a single lovely dandelion seed. All plants were collected and dried by me.

The vial is closed with a cork and accented with a pretty silver pheasant feather and a single bead of snowflake obsidian. It hangs on a bronze chain with lobster clasp.
