I think it was algae-derived fiber, but something tells me tribbles would eat it anyway since they seem to cope pretty well with turkey sandwiches and Capt. Kirk's coffee.

I think tribbles will eat just about anything, be it grain or algae based. Which means that, no matter what she wears, she'll soon be requesting permission to replace her wardrobe, which, if I were the capotain, I would deny it, and hand her another tribble to insure she was thoroughly...ah... cleaned off.
