--The Kingdoms of the Eternal Flame--
Nix come from a land of four kingdoms, the Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter Kingdoms. The people there believe that fire is the symbol of the meeting ground between nature’s power and man’s resourcefulness, it is the knowledge and the key to survival bestowed unto humankind by divinity. At the center of these four kingdoms is the Eternal City which houses the Eternal flame.
The Autumn Kingdom prides itself on its agriculture. Its crest (pictured above) resembles fruits in a basket, symbolizing “The Harvest” Its people value resourcefulness, hospitality, and celebration.
Imperial Nix are large pedigree nix whose bloodlines run back to the beginning of the four kingdoms. They are intelligent, unquestionably loyal to their kingdom, and possess strong telekinetic abilities up to a range of five feet from their bodies. The center of their power lies between their shoulder blades, most imperial nix garments will not cover this area. See size chart
♦ Will-o-wisp ♦
A reserved but friendly Nix who knows every nook and cranny of the Autumn imperial grounds. He seems to disappear and reappear using secret passages, keeping a watchful eye on guests and the royal family.
This Nix is a torchbearer, who would be tasked with carrying flame during ceremonies, as well as escorting guests to and around the palace grounds at night. Torchbearing is a Sacred Skill which requires involves conjuring witchflame and handling real flame with telekinetic ability, both closely kept secrets of the palaces and skills known only to imperial Nix. Will-o-wisp is in charge of teaching the younger imperial nix to use these skills.
He is adorned with a tasselled cape and gold ornamentation on his head as well as ears, which have been clipped to resemble the crest of the Autumn Kingdom. Ear-clipping in the Autumn Kingdom occurs when the nix is of age to learn a chosen Sacred Skill- the first circle is clipped when they have begun their journey, the second when they can use it well enough to aid the imperial palace, and the third when they have mastered it.
