Excuse the crappy background. I wanted to throw explosions in it but got too lazy (a bad tendency of mine). Well, here is the full thing with all the accessories. Not what I first envisioned, missing a lot more knives, guns and such that would have been more fitting for the character that was my inspiration.
I did like how the basic vest construction. The blade not so much. Ran out of time in the end again. Just bad planning as it took more time than I thought it would. Making the vest was actually fun. And the skull belt buckle I like as well. But the rest was largely unfinished.
Can anyone guess the movie character I tried to achieve here? No one? Aw.

Heh, told you several months ago though I am thinking of modifying the vest as a Wacko Biker, a takeoff of that Waco, TeXaS Twin Peaks incident. Another option is to use it a '80s metalhead guitar god complete with poofed up hair, wristband with metal spites, and fingerless gloves. I'll have to borrow a suitable guitar or make something passable if I go that route.
Another idea is to make a high temp fire suit like this http://www.aliexpress.com/item-img/.....931848831.html
The 99cent store has these aluminumized car sunshades for cheap and they are thin enough to cut and sew into something like that (they are actually too thin to use as a car windshield shade). I have experience making vest so I think I can pull it off. The cool think is that I won't have to accessorize it much as the suit itself it he main costume. Maybe a backpack that that is pretty much it. Something different that is for sure. I don't think anyone else would even come up with such an idea.
But as for late year costume, no one else even took a guess. I really needed to have a lot more knives. Just bad planning on my part. Thought I could find plenty at the seasonal Halloween store as well as the party place. They didn't have anything except the plastic ninja throwing blades and a pair of machetes. Far short of my goal of a couple of dozen. I should have gotten a bunch of wooden paintsticks and shaved one end to a point. Some silver paint and it would be convincing enough. Too bad I didn't think of that before.
So a biker, guitar hero or that firesuit are my ideas for this year. Leaning toward the suit as it is not the same-o.
