So... if I ask you about your character... don't be anonymous faceless guy.
While working on little stories I've gotten more than my fair share of stuff like this. I'm not making a story where you get to show off all your amazing powers and everyone gets to be the star. The whole point of a good story is that every character has something likable and despicable about them and that no character is truly 'safe' from flaws or even failure.
It always feels like I'm pulling teeth when I'm trying to get this information.
What do you guys think?

*LOL*
Oh, this is SO apt! Wuffy laughed so hard at that image (and your little shocked reaction was so perfect! *giggles more*)
Vrghr used to run DnD-type games in his own settings, with a lot of "furry" aspects added. For a time, Wuff would let folks bring characters from other worlds and adapt them into his realm. So MANY folks had characters like this. No faults, no weaknesses, super-uber "Blessed Plus" Vorpal Indestructible Intelligent "Dancing" Artifact weapons and armor...
Individuals who could take on Vrghr's entire deity ranks, solo, and walk away commenting "Gee, is that all you got?". And, oh my! The DRAMA if wuff "adjusted" these characters to fit into his realm. Needless to say, Vrghr very quickly put an end to THAT practice.
But ask them, "What does your character like to eat? Do they have a favorite style of dress (yes! Uber-Ultimate Armor, oh and I'm immune to curses, so don't worry about that!"). Do they have a girl/boyfriend? Where is their family living?" And wuff would get the most amazing "deer in the headlights" looks! (What does that have to do with killing monsters and getting treasure?"
Shucks, wuff has seen more than a few published (and popular) authors who can't aswer those questions about their characters! Cardboard, 2-dimensional action-figures only suitable for advancing a plot point. *shakes his shaggy head*
If you would like to use Vrghr, or one of wuff's other (very scarce on FA) characters, Vrghr would be honored to tell you about them and see if you might be able to fit them into your stories! But be prepared for a bit of a lengthly reply when you ask for details. *smiles* Wuff's characters have rich, full backgrounds, and Vrghr isn't ashamed to tell you of them. *chuckles*

Oh yes, this reminds me that I still need to explain to you all about how my own character is a super duper special snowflake and all his super unique unbeatable powers.
Turthfully though, I know how this feels. I've seen far too many characters that are all power focused and try to be the center of attention because of how super special they think they are without having any personality.
