no, i think it is more that wehave been buddied up to the USA for so damned long that we are afraid that we will loose their friendship if we pull out of the deal.
What gets me is they didn't even look around before signing the deal.
The Flanker is more capible and cheaper than the F-35 and is almost unbeleivable when manuvering. It is my favorite current combat aircraft with the F-111 and the F-14 not far behind. for the hell of it i altered some line art of the Su-35 single seater to match the current RAAF F-111 paintwork and markings although i am yet to upload them here.

exactly. The US thinks that Russians are generally inferior to them, and they want to cover up any strengths they have. I think the Su-series jets are excellent.

i've seen the specs on the F-32 and the two RAAF aircraft it is going to replace, the F-111 and the F/A-18, it is superior to the F/A-18 in all respects but falls *Way* below the range, speed, ordinance loadout and manuverability of our F-111s. The Flanker Rules :)

The jet is VERY well done. Yes the face is odd, but you did say it is an older pic.
