Digital painting from life.
I took an epic life drawing class this semester for which we studied the bones and muscles of the body in-depth outside of class and in which we of course drew from live models. Most of this work was done in traditional media - namely charcoal and graphite, per what is typical - but for one long session my professor allowed us to bring in whatever media we desired and I came armed with my laptop and tablet. Producing digital work from nude models was probably one of the most surreal things I've ever done but it was hella fun. Lots of experimenting with color handling and styles of painting happened here - I like the female model's leg the best, where I accented the turning point of the shadow with a cool green color. If I'd had more time I would have loved to carry that throughout both figures.
This was done in approximately five hours. I originally had them composed more sensitively on the page, but I cropped it down due to the amount of unresolved negative space leftover.
