Virginia, America’s long-suffering sister

If America’s parents wanted her to be poised and demure they named her very poorly. Like her namesake, America is all about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Nobody told her that these are currently only the inalienable rights of the rich white male, and even if somebody had told her, she would not be listening. She is much too busy aggressively pursuing hidden truths, preferring to dig up uncomfortable ones and broadcast them as far as possible.
These inalienable rights of hers potentially come at the price of her sister’s safety, her parents’ sanity, her brother’s career, and her cousin’s life-expectancy if she is caught, though she has either not realized this or is too busy with it all to really care just yet. A caring and maybe too straight-forward child, she nevertheless has a hard time remembering that consequences she may be willing to bear are never limited to her. It’s hard to remember those minor details when everything falls into place and makes so much sense.
