I was surprised how many people had a J body, but then I found out they sold 10 million of them worldwide!

Js were the first GM compacts that were worth a damn.
And there are still tons of them on the road as dailies and beaters.

Had an identical 1986 shyhawk that was lovingly refereed to as the skybomb by family and friends. It was the same color and I pulled the seats and steering wheel and same t-type wheels to put on it. Only cosmetic difference of mine
was no luggage rack,but identical otherwise. Bought it for 100.00$ in 1995 with 72k miles,car made it to 300k+ miles and countless adventures with multiple people until 2004 when my lil brother killed it. Sold it to the boneyard for 200.00
I miss it tho,one of the best cars ive ever had. :3

I remember when these came out in 1975... The Chevy Monza, Oldsmobile Starfire, Buick Skyhawk, and in 78, the Pontiac Sunbird. My first new car was a green '79 Pontiac Sunbird with the Buick V-6 and a beige vinyl opera roof. Hang on to it!
