THEY'RE GROSS FOR 6 MONTHS UNLESS YOU TAKE EXTREMELY GOOD CARE OF THEM, because food collects in your cheeks so you have to like wash your mouth after you eat and all the time for like 3 months, and if they get infected it's just like NOPE, mine got so bad my lymph nodes swelled and i had to go to the doctor, i wasn't in any real pain but it was definitely annoying. It was almost worth it if I took better care of them; a boyfriend of mine at the time also rough housed me and accidentally clipped my cheek while they were healing so i have a small rip/scar and yeah MY EXPERIENCE WAS AWFUL but i'm sure there can be good stories with these puppies; in the end they're worth it -- I love them because i love to smile!
Also fyi they do literal nerve damage to your cheeks (which is the other reason why I got them) to give you actual dimples which is cool! but obviously irreversible so be careful if that is what you want.
Chance of infection is high without proper care, if not inevitable - you have to avoid yeast (bread, beer) or you can get a yeast infection in your face, and yeah. Lovely gals they are, straight from Satan's Parlor. I paid 200$ for mine at a professional piercing shop and they still gave me trouble; but the girl did a wonderful job and i very rarely catch them on my teeth, and if i do, they slip from the molars before i have a chance to bite down on them -- which is really bad for your teeth! I did my snakebites myself and because i didn't angle them properly I chew on them sometimes and they've chipped my teeth (luckily on an angle so my canines are even sharper looking so my bottom teeth are like... anime people cat teeth, straight with little kitty fangs aaaaaa i love that little flaw about me HEHE)
Basically, your Pro has to be as big as all these cons if you want them. My pro was PRETTY SHINY SMILE also the fact that they're my #1 favourite piercing and make you look punk chic 100% of the time no matter what. ONE TIME AT HALLOWEEN I WAS EMBARRASSED TO TAKE OFF MY FURSUIT MASK AT A PARTY BECAUSE I SAID I WAS GROSS UNDERNEATH, but when i finally took it off, the people that didn't know me were like "HOLY SHIT YOU'RE GORGEOUS, WOW!" and found out later that everyone agreed that the piercings did the work... so they can be an ego saver too :'D

I mean I have a bridge and snakes at the moment but I want one more set to seal the deal and I was really debating between collarbones or dimples aha!
