heavy paper is nice. ut after useing bristol, i came to like a surface like decent sketch paper. (dont go cheap on sketch paper. the cheap stuff breaks down incase of water exposure (like drops of fluids) the paper i got had gotten wet when i was trying to clean the glass on my scanner and i instantly said "well fuck i dont need to scan anything now, its fucked" i let it sit for 5 minutes, you couldint tell if it had gotten wet. i did a test with canson sketch paper and it dried with the paper raised in the spot where the drop was. that and inking with a micron makes sure your lines are waterproof. heavy paper will turn into a sponge XD. but ill use all types of paper.........didint mean for me to rant about my lab test with paper XD
No prob at all. Tis all good info. I have a Canson 65lb 9x12 for my "Special Drawing" (sucks having a non-fur prudish gf...) and a Canson 70lb for generic "Sociable Acceptable" sketches...
Course I am still starting out in my sketching career... So paper quality and quality of drawing utensil is not as important as developing skills and practice. =)
