Looking at the ground she's standing on, it occurs to me ... that she's standing on the cracked baked waterless and airless surface of the dead Earth billions of years in the future, long after all other life has gone bye-bye - and she's gazing up at an approaching alien spacecraft that she's hoping to be allowed to escape on. Imagine her disgust or whatever when it turns out it's just that fellow immortal guy from the Hitchhiker;s Guide who's going around insulting everyone in the universe. I don't even want to imagine what he's going to say to her.

She has parents?

I would imagine so. They've never been mentioned, nor have I given them any thought. But even if they had both passed away, she would have had them *once*.
