Greetings, my adoring subjects!
I goofed a little bit. I got some artwork for the film "Pan", which opened on Friday and then I forgot to post it! I am inclined to blame the fact that they changed the release date 3 times, but the truth is that I simply haven't looked at my calendar in the past few days. So its totally my bad.
Anyway, have some cute fairy-boy artwork of Etheras actually being a fairy boy. :) And I'll try to pay better attention in the future.
As for Pan... I was excited about it at first, but reviews have been catastrophically abysmal, so I might just wait until Netflix. Anyone seen it? Comments down below and let me know what you think! No spoilers though, ok? Thanks!

Want more Etheras by Brindle? Check out: Red Velvet, On Safari, Ice Heart, Selfie

Or just want to see more of a fairy-boy fennec being a fairy? Check out The Green Fairy, but then there's also Absinthe from my original character Jaspian. :)
Enjoy!

The reviews were very hard, but I kinda expected it to suck.
Live action interpretations of fables tend to fail for a lot of reasons.
Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and Oz: The Great And Powerful are two examples of why fairy tale movies have been subpar.
The best way to make a magical world in these films is to fill it with overly flashy CGI and distract the viewer from the lack of story.
Some ambitious directors attempt to remake the story in their own style but they just end up straying so far from the classic story they don't even come close to doing it justice.
While CGI has its place in certain movies it just makes it look more fake. At least with sets and props the actors can get a feel for what the world they're in is supposed to look like. Adding effects in later via green screen just makes it seem awkward since the actors are essentially blind to whatever the audience is able to see.
Practical sets would be more expensive than CGI so most production studios aren't willing to shell out the money for a set that will ultimately be discarded after the film is released.
If a studio is going to use CGI they should really just go all the way and use digitized actors. It's actually less awkard when an actor only needs to supply a voice.
Overall these films are hindered by cheapness. A director that gives a shit will spend money on sets to make it real. The ones that want money will just use cheap CGI to save a few dollars.
Now I haven't seen this particular film nor do I intend to, but when I saw the trailer it had the stink of shitty cash-in all over it. I try to be open minded, if the film garnered good reviews I may go see it anyway and be pleasantly surprised.
But this often not the case. Especially not with this one.
