With Finals week in full swing all my work and time has gone to doing homework and staying healthy enough to work and avoid any hospital visits, thus, nothing to upload. But today I do have this.
This is a rather different sort of Collab, as it's between me and one of my teachers, a rather Kickass man we'll call Proffessor Hogan. So before we go any further I will clearly state:
The colouring of Phin's Face, Eyes, Tie, the left half of his shirt, and his arms were all done by my Teacher, Professor Hogan, as he was showing me how to use markers.
Now Markers are something I've fancied for a long time but never picked up before so this was pretty much my first time using them so... if it looks horrid, you know why lmfao. Basically while in class, he took my sketch pad where I was doodling Phinehas, as seen here [working on a ref for him] and went and made photocopies of the sketch, brought back the photocopies, and took my markers and began explaining to me the basics of colouring with the prismas I had on me. After he had shown me a few things, he handed it back and had me finish it and basically just told me to have fun with it....
so I did c8.
I can safely say I'll be using markers more in the future because this was an insanely fun experience, all messyness and mistakes aside. Yes, I did just completely cut off Phins fingers for the sake of trying to get his bottom half all coloured up.
A note that NO, Phin does not wear a blinding green shirt with a blood red tie, even during Christmas season. Those were just the only other non brown/tan colours I had on me, which made things very amusing when my teacher chose them being that it was in colour theory class. But I'll be damned if he didn't make them work.
Otherwise the colours are fairly close to Phin's actual colour scheme, all be it lacking a bit more of a red pigment to his hood and body. I think the part I'm happiest with that I did was his hood, and I'm happy with his body as well but unfortunately since the sketch was so light for those areas it doesn't really stand out or look right to me. I tried to re-go over what the lines would have been in pencil but it didn't really work.
All and all a fun learning experience. Remember kids, when your in art school, LISTEN TO YOUR DAMN TEACHERS, you'd be surprised what will come of it when you do.
Anywho I'm going to bed now, sleep deprevation on top of depression on top of breathing problems, joint pains, and heart murmurs, and the fun of finals in the midst of emotional stress well... they just make ya not want to be awake for a few weeks. Toodles~
