Last of the Johto starters - Chikorita.
I've seen a lot of renditions of Chikorita as being a scaly reptilian, probably because its evolved forms look a lot like some kind of sauropod dinosaur. But as I looked at the original images and started doing some sketches, I had the thought that Chikorita looked a bit like some strange little marshmallow Peep. That led to more bird-like attributes and some fluff on this pokemon. And since a lot of dinosaurs nowadays are being shown with feathers, why not add some baby fuzz to a dinosaur-like pokemon? I think it's cute, at any rate...
On to the next set of starters! Treeko, Torchic, and Mudkip...Which one first?

Adding the bird-like features to Chikorita was a really interesting concept. We actually have hooves until we evolve, but I think your imagination is cooler than the reality. Great job!)
