This is such a great anime! If you haven't seen it, Kino's Journey is a slightly more light-hearted (not by any means goofy; just not as somber as Mushi-shi) anime along the same vein/style. Kino's Journey focuses on different lands more than different people, but also have a very thoughtful feel to it. :)
