Here is Tobias last night, when we took him home after being told that the veterinarian wouldn't operate on him without full payment, when we fully expected him to die and for us to be unable to do anything about it because the injury happened on a weekend. An hour or so after this my friend, living in France, contacted me to tell me she could front us the cost if we would be able to pay her back.

Anyway, this is the cat, clearly happy and affectionate, that they were more willing to euthanize than work with us to find other payment options. I'm still stunned that things happened the way they did. He would really be dead if my friend didn't come to the rescue, and if all of the people that have contributed money to pay her back so far were not doing so. Tobias owes his life to all of these people.
