Finally, the Den of Hades. It seems Gurz made a mistake. Is Louis lying? Because Gurz seemed blissfully unaware of his dismissal. Perhaps it's a cover-up. Or maybe he only got fired after he disappeared. He didn't seem the kind of person you tell to his face he's out.
Azhog being deliberately disingenuous. Is he playing a doddering old man, is he actually color blind, or does he pretend he can't tell one ork from another? It's actually just him fumbling down the path of obfuscation. He's gonna have to work on a cover-up of his own, but right now he doesn't know how necessary it is...
For now, he's just gonna lean back and enjoy.

I'm not even sure proper French exists in this world. And it doesn't make sense anyway, since the story is set in (this world's equivalent of) Marseille. Everybody speaks 'French', it's just translated.
Maybe Louis should be taken to have a Breton accent? Or, wait, he's from Brittany (or whatever it's called here) but ever since he left it behind he's overcompensating by speaking as fancily as he can.
Elves have a pretty Celtic vibe in this world.

I'll confess I had to re-read this a few times as I didn't quite understand it at first, mostly because I wasn't grasping that Azhog can't really differentiate one orc from another. Then I was wondering, well he KNOWS what happened to Gurz of course, and then I was like...'oh right, he wouldn't really want that to be apparent.', least that was my interpretation. Anyways, it was certainly worth the wait for him to get in here at last, I couldn't really figure why he wasn't allowed in the first place (other than Gurz just being a dick...which is basically why)
But that was a very, very satisfying bit of pages, will certainly keep my content for awhile as I'm always wondering what they're up to.
