Kate is a lot older than she looks, a few hundred years older, actually, and she has very old fashioned tastes in clothing, music, houses, furniture, vehicles and weapons. Preferring a simple, old fashioned revolver to any kind of fancy new polymer electronic firing system type guns, she gets her clothes custom made at a tailor's, with nothing but natural fabrics, partially because she has a fairly strong phobia of catching on fire.
